Royal Copenhagen Blue Flower Curved Made since 1868
Blue Flower Curved is a porcelain coffee, tea and dinner service with many different accessories. The service was designed in the 1770's, and about 100 years later it was re-designed by Arnold Krog, Artistic Manager of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory.
The curved design features an S-shaped relief on all pieces. Blue Flower Curved is characterized by the play of movement that is typical of the Rococo style. The shape curves and the flowers are arranged asymmetrically. the sauce boats are crowned by, i.e. chubby children blowing a trumpet, and the lids of jugs and sugar bowls are crowned by a rocaille. The service is decorated with different bouquets that are still painted completely by hand and consist of three elements: the main bouquet with the central flower, leaves and buds. The central flower may be a tulip, a rose, a poppy, a carnation , a marguerite, or an aster.
The painter designs the bouquets. The decoration has an everlasting freshness and grace that is unequalled. Many craftspeople are involved n the manufacture of this service. The pieces are molded and assembled by hand, and each and every piece is hand-glazed to ensure the best result.
