Royal Copenhagen Blue Fan - Old Pieces Designed 1909
Blue Fan is a porcelain coffee, tea and dinner service. The service was designed by Arnold Krog, Artistic Manager of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory, and has been in production since 1909. The design was inspired by an open fan. The Fan pattern in a beautiful interpretation of the French Empire style. with garlands around all handles and on all lids. Carving the Fan relief is one of the most complicated tasks even for the most experienced modeler and is a measure of the tradition , skill and craftsmanship at Royal Copenhagen. The rim, naturally, painted by hand. the garlands on handles and lids re in a darker blue tone than the rims. Many craftspeople are involved in the manufacture of this service. The pieces are molded and assembled by hand , and each and every piece is hand-glazed to ensure the best result.
