Royal Copenhagen Princess Blue Made since 1978
Princess is a porcelain coffee, tea and dinner service that includes several gift articles. The painted lace border and the shape of the service were designed by Arnold Krog, Artistic Manager of the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory, in the 1880's but the service was not put into production until 1978. All lids are topped with a snail's shell. The Blue Fluted pattern, of which Princess is a part, is the epitome of fine porcelain and was given its name because the surface is fluted like a mussel shell. Since its introduction, the Blue Fluted pattern has been painted freehand by specially trained painters at Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory. Many craftspeople are involved in the production of this service. All pieces are molded and assembled by hand, and each and every piece is hand-glazed to ensure best results.
